Microalgae are a promising direction in the energy sector. With the development of biotechnology, the cultivation of microalgae becomes possible even in regions without a marine climate. Microalgae capable of absorbing harmful emissions from coal-fired power plants, be a feedstock for biofuels. The potential of microalgae has not yet been fully realized, new strains of increased productivity, resistance to climatic influences, etc. are being developed.
The novelty of the profession: improving the characteristics of microalgae that absorb CO and harmful gases from boiler houses. (The profession is new for Kazakhstan)

- Study of the properties of microalgae absorbing CO and harmful emissions from boiler houses
- Study of the climatic conditions of the region, the level and composition of local emissions from boiler houses
- Development of new strains of microalgae with improved properties: yield, fat content, resistance to climatic and natural characteristics of the region
